Stori Fyw Peredur
Stori Fyw Peredur is an interactive theatre production created for our client the National Eisteddfod of Wales.
For our latest project, we wanted to energise interactive theatre with gameplay to create a performance which is influenced by the decisions of our audience.
‘Stori Fyw Peredur’ is a Welsh Language theatre show for children that we performed at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. The production revitalises a traditional Welsh tale from the Mabinogion and sends the audience on a quest with the main character, Peredur, to complete challenges in order to become a knight.
Armed with only a triangle from King Arthur and cookies from Peredur’s mum, the children are encouraged to use creative solutions to overcome their encounters with dragons, witches and a giant. The children can only use each item once, leaving at least one task to be solved with improvisation.
We performed outdoors at the festival and our actor, Lorna Prichard, beautifully adapted the show to the North Wales landscape, even referring to the surrounding trees as the giant’s broccoli! The interactive performance became a lively display of hilarious storytelling, puppetry and Welsh culture.
Our eight days of performances in Llanrwst began with ice-lollies and sun cream yet in typical Welsh-style, our week ended early with flood warnings and welly boots! We had a magical experience at the festival and it was a pleasure to encourage and witness the fantastic imagination of our young audience.
Sunny Go Wild is always up for working or collaborating on more real-world games. We also love to work with both traditional, and innovative digital platforms such as Amazon’s Alexa. Our inbox is always open!
